Action C9. Protection against erosion
Objectives
Reduce erosion in Cosp by consolidating the path through the pan and modification of the slope in the areas with presence of yews that are uprooting.
Actions
The Cosp yew forest is located on a rocky, thin soil and steep hillside. The trail access easily erodes sections in some scree sections and the yews show specific problems of erosion. Consequently, the objectives of the action are:
- Construct a linear mesh barrier in the path integrated into the landscape, so it minimizes the visual impact (mesh with galvanized steel wire). This will allow the retention of soil while allowing the natural dynamics of the scree.
- Yew bottom protection with pruning and thinning from action C1. It will retain the soil and prevent goats from entering inside the yew forest.
Results
118 linear meters have been stabilized, martens have been built and the stone walls that already existed have been repaired. It has also been improved road access to yew forest.
